Clean Air India
Breathe Easier with Autogas
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdown measures introduced to suppress transmission of the virus had a significant impact on air quality. According to India’s Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), lockdown cut fine particulate matter levels in half in Delhi. The global scale of reduced mobility gave us a rare insight into what a low-emission future could look like.
Autogas is a clean, efficient, cost-effective and safe automotive fuel,
which can help improve India’s air quality today.

Autogas emits less CO2 and pollutant emissions such as NOx.
Autogas emissions are lower than those of Petrol and at a fraction of the Bharat Stage (BS) VI limits, making Autogas a highly viable alternative fuel that has the potential to accelerate India’s clean environment goals.
Autogas was found to emit almost 52% less carbon monoxides, 47% less total hydrocarbons and 50% less non-methane hydrocarbons as compared to Petrol.

Immediate impact on existing fleet.
There are over 300 million on-road vehicles in India today, currently running on polluting liquid fuels. Converting this existing fleet to Autogas can have a direct impact on pollutant emissions and could result in an almost immediate air quality improvement. Autogas is available today and is perfect to act as a bridging fuel in the Energy Transition.
