Autogas is a clean alternative fuel that can help reduce transport emissions.

Autogas emits less CO2 and pollutant emissions such as NOx.

Autogas emissions are lower than those of Petrol and at a fraction of the Bharat Stage (BS) VI limits, making Autogas a highly viable alternative fuel that has the potential to accelerate India’s clean environment goals.

Autogas was found to emit almost 52% less carbon monoxides, 47% less total hydrocarbons and 50% less non-methane hydrocarbons as compared to Petrol.

Autogas was found to emit 82% lower emissions for Carbon Monoxide, 70% lower for total hydrocarbons, 62% lower for non-methane hydrocarbons (NmHC) and 81% lower Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) than the BSVI limits.

Driving on Autogas is almost 45% cheaper than petrol.

Passenger vehicles can easily convert to Autogas and recover the conversion kit investment within six months, dependent on the Autogas price per city.

Immediate impact on existing fleet.

There are over 300 million on-road vehicles in India today, currently running on polluting liquid fuels. Converting this existing fleet to Autogas can have a direct impact on pollutant emissions and could result in an almost immediate air quality improvement. Autogas is available today and is perfect to act as a bridging fuel in the Energy Transition.

Continue the Clean Air Conversation

Autogas is the number one alternative transport fuel globally and a valuable option for governments to have when facing a net zero future, poor urban air quality and threats to climate change. To continue the discussion, register for Autogas Day – Thursday 9th December 2021 at LPG Week 2021/Dubai.
