Spain: Valencia allocates €4 million to help acquire clean fuel vehicles

The Valencian Community has expanded the budget of the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness’s (Ivace) aid programme for the acquisition of sustainable vehicles with €4 million, which will be in force until 28 July 2021.

The Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labour, through Ivace Energía, manages these aids, which are part of the Ministry of Ecological Transition’s Moves II Programme, whose objective is to encourage the purchase of vehicles that use alternative energies to reduce polluting emissions and improve air quality.

Of this increased amount, €800,000 will be allocated to the acquisition of trucks that can use alternative fuels, including LPG, CNG, LNG and bi-fuel systems (petrol/LPG or petrol/CNG), and the remaining €3,200,000 will be will be used for the purchase of electric vehicles.

The Ivace requested the extension of the budget, after exhausting the initially consigned to the Valencian Community, which amounted to €4.76 million. These aids, which came into force last August, already helped to advance in the diversification of energy sources in transportation, with the consequent reduction of dependence on petroleum products.

“The transport sector is the one with the highest energy consumption in the Valencian Community and practically all of this consumption comes from oil, so it is essential to carry out active policies to promote a more sustainable type of mobility,” said General Director of Ivace Júlia Company.
