Spain: sales of eco-friendly vehicles increases 40% in 2019

During last year, 162,417 vehicles powered by alternative fuels were commercialised in Spain, representing an increase of 40.7% over 2018, which closed with 115,379 units of this type of cars, according to ANFAC (Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers) data.

Encouraged by ecological awareness and stricter traffic restrictions in large cities, drivers are increasingly opting for vehicles with the ECO or ZERO label of the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), which include LPG, natural gas, electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid cars.

Regarding ECO-labelled Autogas and natural gas vehicles, the cumulative sales of cars with engines adapted to run on these fuels have increased by 30% during 2019, reaching 32,910 units. This figure includes 19,715 LPG-powered vehicles.

The best-selling models are the Opel Corsa LPG with 4,845 units, the Dacia Sandero LPG with 3,780 units, the Renault Clio LPG with 2,441 units, and the Dacia Duster LPG with 1,783 units. For more information, please visit this link.
