Spain: Repsol and Astrave offer new incentives to encourage Autogas conversions

Repsol and Astrave (Association of Vehicle Transformers) have relaunched the ‘Move on Autogas’ campaign, which seeks to stimulate the transition to this cleaner fuel. With this initiative, drivers who convert their gasoline-powered and C label vehicles at one of the associated workshops will receive a discount of up to 150 euros on LPG refuelling at Respol service stations (there are more than 700 throughout the country).

The campaign will run until February 24, 2023, while the discount can be exchanged until April 1, 2024. The conversions must be made at the workshops of iRCONGAS, Gasmoción and Gas Point Center in the provinces of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Seville and Alicante. Both individuals and professionals can benefit from this incentive.

Once the C label vehicles have been transformed to Autogas, users will be entitled to the ECO badge from the Spanish General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), which authorises them to circulate in Low Emission Zones (ZBE), among other benefits.

On January 1, 2023, the regulations on ZBE will come into force, establishing that all municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants will have to implement at least one ZBE. In other words, a total of 149 municipalities in Spain will be affected by this provision.

Vehicles powered by Autogas that comply with the Euro 4 standard or are registered after 2006 can obtain the ECO label, due to the reduction in polluting emissions that they emit thanks to this alternative fuel. For more information, please check this link.
