Spain: BeGas presents new 8- and 4-cylinder engines

During the XXVIII Technical Conference of the National Association of Public Environmental Companies (ANEPMA), which that took place at the end of 2021, the Spanish company BeGas presented the EVO 3 8-cylinder V engine for heavy urban vehicles, such as buses and waste collection trucks. This engine, developed in collaboration with the CDTI (Centre for Industrial Technological Development) and which already runs in public vehicles in Santander and Valencia, can be installed through two innovative solutions.

The first of these is the conversion to LPG, that is, the replacement of the diesel engines with the BeGas engine. With this option, companies and local entities will be able to extend the useful life of their vehicle in a sustainable way.

Second, for those organisations that want to integrate an engine powered by Autogas from the start, BeGas also installs its engines in new vehicles, reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by up to 80% if the engine uses the renewable version of the fuel.

The company also presented a new LPG engine that is in the process of approval. It is a small-size, 4-cylinder engine with which BeGas will embrace 3.5-tonne vehicles. This engine is expected to be a new solution to promote the presence of smaller environmentally-friendly vehicles in the streets of Spain.

The 8 and 4-cylinder engines were on display at the company’s stand along with four vehicles in which BeGas has installed its products, three of them donated by the urban services company Urbaser. For more information, please check here.
