Repsol and El Corte Inglés have signed a collaboration agreement to create Spain’s largest convenience store network at the energy company’s refuelling stations. With this initiative, Repsol wants to modernise the traditional filling station concept and offer new services as well as more alternative fuels.

For Repsol, the services added will be a fundamental strategy of the sales channel, with new products such as Autogas, as well as an integral reform of the services to the customers inside the refuelling stations.“This agreement will benefit the more than one million customers who visit the Repsol network every day, who will be able to enjoy a new store model, with an expanded product and service offer to improve their shopping experience with the recognised quality El Corte Inglés always offers,” said Repsol’s press release.

This collaboration represents a major advance on the expansion of Autogas adoption among professional fleets as well as individual drivers, as among the various points indicated in the agreement, there is a declaration of intent where both companies confirm its commitment towards Autogas with plans to install new LPG dispensers at all Repsol service stations.

Under the agreement, Repsol will exclusively have the ‘Supercor Stop&Go’ supermarket brand, which is already present in 58 service stations and which now can be extended to its entire network of approximately 3,500 refuelling points. Moreover, El Corte Inglés will become the new purchasing centre for Repsol’s station network, which means that it will make available to the energy company an assortment of more than 35,000 food, gourmet, beverage and bazaar products and over 60,000 of non-food products.
