Renewable Liquid Gas arrives in Maine
Bonny Eagle school buses have become the first in the New England region to run on renewable Liquid Gas. Bonny Eagle is currently the largest school administrative district in the State of Maine.
Sarah Marean, Bonny Eagle Transportation Director, explained that the school district has been using Autogas school buses for nearly 20 years. The entity operates 30 LPG-powered vehicles out of a fleet of 38. The rest of the buses are powered by petrol.
According to Bonny Eagle, LPG is more affordable than diesel, and is the most reliable option during the cold winter months.
“I think that we’re being responsible, we’re forward thinking,” highlighted Marean, and added that renewable Liquid Gas buses emit up to 96% less harmful emissions than diesel buses. “That’s great news for our planet,” she said.
