PRINS leads the way with direct injection Autogas fuel systems
Almost all new cars these days have engines with direct injection fuel systems, so it is really important to have the right Autogas system in place. At GasShow 2013 – Europe’s biggest alternative fuel related trade show, held in Warsaw, Poland in early March – Prins Autogassystemen, based in the Netherlands, won the INPRO Award for its new Autogas Vapour Sequential Injection system, known as VSI-2.0, which was unveiled at the show.
The VSI-DI system for alternative fuels is one of two direct injection systems offered by Prins, the other, known as Direct LiquiMax being based on liquid technology. The Direct LiquiMax system has already won two awards; for innovation and for sustainability.
The VSI-2.0 system is an update of the popular Prins VSI system that has been on the market for more than 10 years now. We believe that VSI-2.0 is the most advanced vapour injection system available on the market today.
The system was developed in close cooperation with Keihin Corporation of Japan, one of the world’s leading injector manufacturers with an outstanding reputation among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for quality and reliability.
VSIis available in Autogas (LPG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) versions. The key components of the system are all of OEM quality and specially designed for Autogas and/or CNG applications. All components comply with the strictest regulations and certifications.
The installation of the components is very easy due to the compact design of the components. The
dedicated diagnostic software that comes with the fuel system is unique and enables the system to be optimised for performance. With the VSI system, there is no difference with driving on petrol.
At GasShow 2013, the VSI-2.0 system was put on show at the Prins stand for the first time – installed in nothing less than a 4.8 litre V8 Turbo, direct injection, 500hp Porsche Panamera, driven all the way to Warsaw from the Netherlands by Prins CEO, Bart van Aerle!
The VSI-2.0 system is well-adapted to high-performance direct-injection engines such as those in Porsches and other sports cars. The system permits big reductions in fuel cost and reduced pollutant and CO2 emissions, without losing drivability and performance.
Prins also demonstrated the Prins Dieselblend 2.0 Autogas and CNG fuel systems for medium and heavy duty vehicles. The company specializes in alternative fuel systems for vehicles with three and to even 10 cylinder.
Following the award, Bart van Aerle commented: “it is our company goal to develop alternative fuel systems for a wide variety of vehicles and getting the best performance. Last September we won the Automechanika Innovation Award and the Green Directory Award for our Direct LiquiMax system. Now it is great to see we won an award for our new VSI-2.0 system.”
The prestigious INPRO Award for the most innovative LPG technology is presented each
year at the GasShow exhibition. The winner is chosen by an jury of industry experts.
