Polish drivers received a special gift from the government this Christmas. This is a new tax relief that is profitable for those who refuel Autogas. This is especially important in view of the entry into force of the amendment to the Electromobility Act, which took effect on 24 December.

Under this new amendment, drivers with a category B driving license for at least two years and an alternative fuel propulsion system, will have extended rights regarding the permissible total weight of the vehicle they drive.

The permissible total weight goes from 3.5 to 4.25 tonnes. The additional 750 kg is a response to the fact that electric vans, in particular, lose up to half a tonne of GVW due to the weight of their batteries.

However, the biggest winners in this situation seem to be those who drive with LPG installations. Such a modification of the car does not significantly add to the weight of the vehicle, but significantly increases its legal load capacity. For more information, please check here.
