Opel delivers over 50 Autogas cars to Spanish electrical equipment company

AME, a company of the Sonepar Ibérica group dedicated to the B2B distribution of electrical equipment, has renewed its fleet with environmentally-friendly vehicles. In total, it has added 55 Opel cars propelled by Autogas, which will be used by the company’s commercial team. The delivery of the vehicles took place in Xátiva (Valencia) at the headquarters of GP Automoción, official dealer of Opel in the Valencian municipality.

Specialised in mobility solutions, Arval was the leasing company selected for the acquisition of the new Opel Mokka X Ecotec LPG 1.4 turbo 140 HP cars; while Repsol will supply the Autogas to the fleet.

“This acquisition represents Sonepar Ibérica group’s commitment to efficient mobility, sustainability and respect for the environment,” said Toni Durá, Managing Director of AME.

“The Opel Mokka X Ecotec 1.4 turbo 140 HP is an iconic model of the German brand that combines style and performance and, with the Autogas version, it offers savings of up to 40% in fuel costs. Opel has a great advantage over most manufacturers, since the LPG system is ‘factory-made,’ which provides a plus of quality,” said Alan Palacios, owner and manager of GP Automoción. “In addition, the vehicle has the ECO label of the General Direction of Traffic that certifies its low emissions and allows it to circulate without restrictions during high pollution scenarios.”

Miguel Gómez, head of Repsol Autogas in the Valencian Community, also commented: “This agreement with AME and Opel helps us to continue positioning Autogas as a real alternative for today mobility. More than 80,000 LPG vehicles already operate in Spain, of which 6,000 are in the Valencian Community.”
