LPG-powered Ford Fiesta wins sustainability award in Italy

The Autogas Ford Fiesta has won the Green Prix 2016, a recognition that each year is delivered to the motor vehicles that most stood out for their commitment to environmental sustainability and which recorded a good sales result. The award is organized as part of a ‘No Smog Mobility’ campaign with an event held in Palermo.

The jury of the Green Prix, chaired by journalist Italo Cucci, gave the award to the Ford Fiesta celebrating the big success achieved in 2015, when it was by far the best-selling car with LPG propulsion in Italy.

In 2015, Ford sold over 40,000 units of this European ‘best seller’ compact, of which more than 11,000 were LPG-powered, a propulsion system that reduces fuel consumption and emissions without significantly change the refuelling habits and leaving intact the pleasure driving, a key element of Ford DNA.

The Green Prix was delivered to the President and CEO of Ford in Italy, Dominic Chianese, who reiterated the strong commitment that the company has made to propose more environmentally friendly models.

“The primacy of Ford Fiesta with an LPG car arrives for the 2nd consecutive year and stresses our commitment to offering our customers a range of solutions to drive ‘green’, choosing between high efficiency technologies, suitable in every habit and driving style without giving up a conscious and sustainable personal mobility,” said Chianese.
