Italy’s Ministry of Transport simplifies revision of LPG-powered vehicles

Good news for Autogas vehicles owners and drivers. From February 2021 it is easier to install the fuel system and periodically replace the LPG tank as well as other modifications, including those for the double controls of cars intended for driving schools and adaptations for the disabled, which no longer require the test in the Motorizzazione Civile (Italian Department of Motor Vehicles – DMV).

According to the decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, published in the Official Gazette, qualified workshops can also manage the administrative procedures of verification and testing, on the ten-year replacement of LPG tanks.

Thus, from now on a written declaration from the workshop executing the work is sufficient, which must in any case be sent to the DMV (by the owner of the vehicle) for updating the certificate of circulation. A transition phase is initially planned.
