Italy: Veneto region extends incentives to transition to alternative fuels

Veneto regional council has decided to extend alternative fuel incentives following the COVID-19 emergency and the resulting stringent measures issued to contain the spread of the virus, with the aim of not limiting the possibility of completing the operations linked to the calls, such as the purchase/conversion of alternative fuel vehicles and the presentation of the relative documentation.

“To expand the possibility of accessing the bonuses envisaged and not frustrate their use due to the current limitations in circulation, we have decided to extend the terms for the bureaucratic procedures connected to the 2019 and 2020 calls relating to the scrapping of old polluting cars and to the transformation of vehicles from petrol or diesel to LPG or natural gas,” said Veneto regional councillor for the environment Gianpaolo Bottacin, after the approval of the measure at the regional council.

Regarding the scrapping notice, the ending of circulation of an old cars and the purchase of a new one are postponed from July to 1 September 2020, while the presentation of the documentation can be done until 2 October 2020.

Moreover, the presentation of the documentation related to the vehicle conversions passes from 1 June to 1 August 2020.

“These are announcements that offer important incentives. It was necessary to ensure that not only the possibility of submitting the application was successfully completed, but also all the consequent operations.”
