Italy: more incentives for the purchase of Euro 6 low-emission vehicles

The government’s “eco” bonus relating to the scrapping and purchase of new and used Euro 6D cars has been extended until 31 December 2021. The new incentives for the purchase of used and new low-emission cars have been available since the end of July, after approval by the Budget Commission in the Chamber.

The funds available are equal to 350 million Euros, much higher than those budgeted at the beginning of July (250 million). Of these 350 million Euros, 40 million will be allocated to the purchase of Euro 6D used cars.

The remaining aids will be distributed as follows: 200 million Euros for the purchase of Euro 6 new hybrids, mild-hybrids, petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG cars (CO2 emissions between 61 and 135 g/km); 60 million Euros for the purchase of new electric or hybrid cars (CO2 emissions between 0 and 60 g/km); 50 million Euros for the purchase of new commercial vehicles (of which 15 million will go for electric vehicles).

For the first group, including Autogas cars, each new vehicle will receive a State incentive of 1,500 Euros and a dealership discount of 2,000 Euros + VAT. For more information, please check this link.
