India: Maruti Suzuki offers new Wagon R with LPG option

Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Wagon R in India on 23 January, while the production is starting this week at the company’s plant in Manesar. The car will be available with four fuel options: petrol, Autogas, CNG and electric.

The LPG dual fuel options will be available later this year, while the all-electric variant of the vehicle will take a while to arrive though.

The car is expected to be offered with the same 1-litre, 3 cylinder K-Series engine. This engine makes 67 Bhp-90 Nm in the outgoing WagonR, and similar outputs are likely on the all-new variant. The LPG and CNG dual fuel variants will feature a manual gearbox.

The prices for the newer version of the already popular Maruti Suzuki Wagon R are expected to be between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) with the new car set to be offered with more features, more space and more safety, compared with outgoing model.

The new Wagon R will compete with the likes of the Tata Tiago and the recently launched Hyundai Santro. For more information, please visit this link.
