Argentina: new Autogas corridor expected to link Chaco, San Juan and Buenos Aires

The LPG sector expects 2025 to be the key year to launch an ambitious and long-term infrastructure plan with the aim of promoting and expanding Autogas adoption in Argentina, according to Raúl Persoglia, President of Sifer Gas S.A.

He highlighted that for next year the creation of a corridor of Autogas stations is planned connecting San Juan with Buenos Aires, to complement the refuelling facilities that currently operate in Chaco, Corrientes and Formosa.

Sifer Gas’s expansion plans contemplate the renovation and/or construction of at least three LPG filling stations along the route that connects northern Argentina with the country’s capital.

“We are studying the possibility of reactivating a currently closed location, where soil analyses will be carried out to determine whether it is feasible to transform it into an LPG supply point,” explained Persoglia. In addition, he pointed out that the company is evaluating proposals to adapt already active stations to a multi-fuel modality that allows offering both Autogas and other fuels.

For him, it is necessary to convince potential customers of the advantages of LPG as a vehicle fuel. In this regard, he affirmed that in areas where CNG is already installed, the transition will be easier, and clarified that both fuels do not compete with each other, but rather complement each other.

“It is healthy for CNG and GLPA to coexist. The more supply there is, the better it will be for users and for the environment,” he concluded.
