Spain: Mitsubishi launches new LPG-powered Colt boasting a range of more than 1,000-kilometres

The Mitsubishi dealer network in Spain has expanded its offering with the new Mitsubishi Colt 100T LPG. This seventh generation of the iconic model, inspired by the success of the Colt launched in Europe in 1978, has been designed with urban adventurers in mind, according to the car maker.

The Colt is based on a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged MPI-T engine offering 90 hp of power and 160 Nm of torque, however this new Autogas version increases its power to reach 100 hp and the maximum torque is set at 170 Nm. Representing a 10% increase in maximum power compared to the petrol version. With a six-speed manual gearbox, the Colt 100T LPG maintains agile performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 174 km/h.

According to the car maker, one of the standout features of this model is its bi-fuel system, equipped with both a 42-litre petrol tank and an LPG tank. Together, they provide the Colt with an impressive range of over 1,000 kilometres.

In addition, by using Autogas, the cost per kilometre is approximately 35% lower than in the petrol version. This not only benefits the driver’s pocket, but also grants it the ECO label from the Spanish DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic), which guarantees access to the ZBE (low-emission zones) and implies discounts on regulated parking in large cities.
