Texas offers incentives to support adoption of LPG in vehicle fleets

The Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT), a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the use of cleaner-burning, domestically produced LPG, is offering incentives through its Propane Autogas: Fuelling Texas campaign, to Texas private vehicle fleets.

The ProCOT defines a private fleet as a business or non-profit fleet with three or more vehicles registered in Texas. The incentive will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ProCOT’s incentives cover the purchase of new, dedicated original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Autogas vehicles and/or aftermarket conversions to LPG. Incentives are available to cover the incremental cost between gas/diesel vehicles and LPG vehicles up to $7,500. There is a $30,000 cap per fleet. In return, vehicle incentive recipients will be required to provide data on their fleet.

Moreover, from 1 January 2017, the incentive programme will be expanded to public vehicles to include school district, municipal, county, and state fleets. Public Autogas vehicle seeking incentive must be converted or purchased on or after January 1, 2017 to qualify.
