The Regional Director of Repsol Butano S.A. Francisco Fernández-Pacheco Cotillo and the General Director of HIDROGEA – a company in the environmental sector that manages all processes related to the complete water cycle – Javier Ybarra Moreno have signed a collaboration agreement in order to increase the use of Autogas in Spain.

Under this agreement, Repsol as a distributor and retailer of LPG, both through the channel of bulk storage facilities and exclusive supply, as well as through its refuelling stations, will encourage the acquisition and use of Autogas vehicles.

Meanwhile, HIDROGEA commits to using environmentally friendly energy and renewing its car fleet with less polluting LPG vehicles. Currently, the company already operates two vehicles running on Autogas, reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides by 68% and gases that affect the ozone layer, the level of hydrocarbon and noise emissions.

Since 2012, HIDROGEA is certified by APPLUS, under the UNE-EN ISO 50001, which determines compliance with current legislation on energy efficiency, performing actions within the framework of its competence, whose aim is part of the implementation of renewable energies, in order to contribute and progress towards a more sustainable energy model. Besides obtaining cost savings, by improving energy efficiency and promoting renewable energies, the company seeks to minimize the environmental impact, especially reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs).

This agreement is another example of both company’s commitment to the environment, to develop of a more sustainable service and to encourage the use of alternative fuels that protect the air quality in the cities.
