Spain: new Autogas station opens for taxi drivers in Andalusia

The Provincial Association of Taxi Drivers of Córdoba (Autacor) and DISA have put into operation a new Autogas refuelling station with double hose, which has become the largest supply point of LPG for taxis in Andalusia. It is located in the Córdoba Taxi Centre.

“Autogas is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world. It is a clean and economical fuel that allows a rapid and effective improvement in air quality, thanks to a reduced emission of nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons,” said the taxi organisation.

With the opening of this new filling station, Autacor consolidates its environmental policy, also supported by aid from the Córdoba City Council and the commitment and involvement of all taxi professionals, who are managing to reduce the carbon footprint year after year, improving the air quality in the city.

The replacement of the most polluting diesel vehicles with ECO-labelled vehicles powered by LPG technology, as well as the conversion of gasoline vehicles to LPG carried out thanks to the aid of the City Council in 2021 and 2022, have been the key to Autacor’s environmental policy. Currently, 62% of Córdoba’s vehicle fleet is environmentally-friendly, of which 26% are taxis running on Autogas.

Thanks to the adoption of this fuel, Autacor has managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 1,948 tonnes, in the 2016-2022 period, which is equivalent to planting 6,428 trees. For more information, please check this link.
