Spain: 35% of buyers of the country’s best-selling car choose Autogas option

Despite the difficult context of 2022, the different brands of the Renault Group have achieved very good results and in line with the objectives set by the Group, which involve prioritizing the most profitable segments and channels.

For the 10th consecutive year, Dacia Sandero maintains its position as the best-selling vehicle for private customers in Spain, with a total of 20,911 units sold in 2022. Dacia’s best seller has managed to keep this leadership thanks to its quality-design-price ratio, one of the best on the market.

Almost a quarter of a million Spanish drivers have purchased a Sandero since its launch in 2008. 78% of customers have chosen the Stepway version. In addition, the ECO-G 100 LPG-powered version already accounts for 35% of sales.

Moreover, the Dacia brand is the absolute leader in Autogas technology in Spain, with an 85% market share, and Sandero is the best-selling model. Customers of this technology enjoy the ECO label and double autonomy, among other advantages.

Francisco Hidalgo, General Director of Dacia in Iberia, is very proud of Sandero’s decade of leadership in Spain and optimistic regarding the commercial dynamics of the brand in 2023. “Our range will be enriched, we will also have a new brand identity throughout the range and even in our commercial network. I am sure that the new emblem, the new colours and the new visual identity will contribute to further increasing the success of the Dacia brand in our country,” he said.
