Schweppes encourages green mobility with new Autogas vehicles in Madrid

Schweppes Suntory Spain, a subsidiary of the Japanese group Suntory, has added their first cars equipped with LPG technology to its commercial team in Madrid. The vehicles were supplied by Renault and the rental and fleet management company ALD Automotive.

With the initial delivery of 34 Renault Clio Societé LPG cars, Schweppes Suntory Spain officially launches its ‘2030 Mobility Plan,’ in line with the company’s sustainability strategy, which aims to continue incorporating ‘ECO’ (Autogas, CNG and hybrids) technologies into its fleet. The ‘ECO’ label, granted by the DGT (Spanish Directorate General for Traffic), will allow the new vehicles to access Madrid urban centre. Schweppes’ goal is that all of its vehicles are low- and zero-emissions by 2030.

“The development of our business involves making multiple trips, so it is a priority for us that these are carried out in the most efficient and sustainable way in order to reduce the environmental impact,” said Carmen Guembe, Director of Communications, Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Schweppes Suntory Spain.

Pedro Rollán, acting president of the Government of the Community of Madrid, also commented: “From the regional government we continue to work for the environment, energy efficiency and clean energy, advancing in the challenge of achieving sustainable mobility and a decarbonised and circular economy with the help of all: administration, neighbours and businesses.”
