Piaggio Group launches Porter NP6, the first city truck, with LPG option

At an online international première, the Piaggio Group presented its new range of four-wheel lightweight commercial vehicles: the new Porter NP6, the first city truck, combines compact dimensions with an extraordinary payload and exclusively eco-friendly engines, including an Autogas bi-fuel version.

“As rapid changes take place in mobility and in consumer spending and goods delivery, the Piaggio Group is anticipating new trends by evolving its product range,” said Piaggio Group Chairman and CEO Roberto Colaninno. “Today the DNA of the Piaggio Group is taking yet another step forward with the renewal of the Porter, one of our historic commercial vehicles, bringing it into line with the needs of modern urban mobility.”

The city truck will feature the new CombiFuel petrol/LPG and petrol/CNG 1,498 cc Euro 6D Final engines, as well as compact dimensions (the cabin is only 1.64 metres wide) and a loading capacity of more than 1,600 kg., making the Porter NP6 the ideal urban work vehicle for last-mile deliveries and short- and medium-range goods transport.

The CombiFuel engines are available in two different versions, depending on the required Autogas or natural gas range: Short Range, intended for mainly urban use, and Long Range, for activities that need greater autonomy and loading capacity.

The new Porter NP6 range is manufactured in Italy, in the Piaggio Group’s Pontedera factory, and distributed in the main European countries. Depending on the configurations, it will be sold with a competitive positioning and at an ex-showroom price starting from just over € 15,000 for the petrol\LPG bi-fuel version.
