New LPG-powered commercial vehicles arrive in the Philippines

Operating under local distributor Gazelle Motors Corporation, a subsidiary of Eastern Petroleum Group, Russian manufacturer GAZ will be selling their line of Gazelle Next commercial vans and mini-buses, as well as light-, medium- and heavy duty trucks in the Philippines. The company aims to provide vehicle solutions not only to the private sector, but also to public utility transport companies as well.

“The start of sales of multi-functional, reliable and eco-friendly Gazelle Next minibuses is the first stage of our entry to the Philippine market. I am sure that together with such a strong partner as Gazelle Motors Corp., we will be able to quickly and confidently develop in this market,” said Christian Kramer, SVP for Sales and Marketing of GAZ Group.

The GAZ models include the Next LCV and the Citiline bus with Autogas versions. In both cases, GAZ is offering an engine that displaces 2.7-litres and can run on either LPG or gasoline. When fed with the former, the engine produces 104 PS at 4000 rpm and 219 Nm of torque at 2200 – 2500 rpm. Meanwhile, the latter puts out 107 PS at 4000 rpm with 220 Nm of torque at 2200 – 2500.
