Korea: LPG Association and Logistics Association join forces to deploy Autogas trucks

The Korea LPG Association announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Integrated Logistics Association to supply 1-tonne delivery trucks powered by LPG.

The agreement was endorsed by Lee Ho-joong, Chairman of the LPG Association, and Cho Moo-young, Vice Chairman of the Korea Logistics Association.

The two organisations plan to cooperate in order to convert urban delivery trucks into Autogas vehicles so as to help in reducing fine dust. During May, more than 10 distribution centres across the country are expected to hold LPG truck test-drive events.

In addition, the Korea LPG Association has donated three LPG 1-tonne trucks to the Logistics Association. The vehicles will be supplied to three small delivery companies.

“We will continue to cooperate with related organisations to expand the market for eco-friendly LPG trucks, which are called the feet of small business owners,” said Lee Ho-joong. “We will continue to pay attention and provide support to overcome the difficulties of small business owners and self-employed people together.”

According to the association, the sales of 100,000 LPG trucks could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 16,000 tonnes and nitrogen oxides by 1,06 million tonnes each year.
