India: Bajaj Auto completes transition to new emission norm

Bajaj Auto has launched its entire three-wheeler range in BS-VI (stricter permissible emission standard instituted by the Government of India). The company has adopted fuel injection for all the autorickshaws, and now offers 14 BS-VI compliant products across the RE, Maxima and Maxima Cargo brands.

Regarding the RE vehicles, these black and yellow autorickshaws have got a 236cc, dual spark plug engine that is available in Autogas version, offering 11.4hp/15.2Nm.

Commenting on the launch, BAL Joint President, Intracity Business Unit, Samardeep Subandh said: “The introduction of these models completes the transition of our entire product range to BS-VI emission norms ahead of time. We are confident that the new BS6 products in RE and Maxima range will further strengthen our leadership position in the market.”

Last year, Bajaj announced the launch of an LPG-powered quadricycle, India’s first quadricycle which the company is offering for both personal and commercial use. For more information, please check this link.
