Colombia: new company brings four Autogas stations to Barranquilla

Yego, a new brand of the Colombian LPG expert Plexa Group, has put into operation the company’s first four Autogas stations in Barranquilla. The refuelling points will have a capacity to serve more than 2,000 vehicles per day.

The purpose is to double the investment in 2022 and end with 12 service stations offering Autogas, which is not only much more environmentally-friendly but more efficient and cheaper compared to gasoline, said Juan Carlos Montoya, Manager of Yego.

In addition, the company’s projection is to finish this year with 800 vehicles converted to LPG and in 2022, with more than 3,000. They operate two conversion centres which have already performed more than 300 transformations in the last three months.

Montoya also remarked that the first 1,000 vehicle conversions will be free and that the company’s growth plan includes covering the northern region of the country, from La Guajira to Córdoba. “In the next five years we are going to deploy a network of 150 stations throughout the north coast and more than 25,000 vehicles converted using LPG,” he explained.
