Autogas gains momentum in Ghana

Following the recent adjustment in fuel prices in the country, Ghanaians are seeking new alternatives to the use of gasoline and diesel. In this regard, a new collaboration is urging private and public vehicle drivers to embrace Autogas as an alternative fuel source.

The partnership between Accra Technical Training Centre (training institution funded through the joint cooperation of the Governments of Ghana and Canada) and the Nigerian alternative fuel company THLD Group has already established a centre in Accra, Ghana capital city, to professionally convert petrol-engine vehicles to Autogas vehicles.

According to Olajuwan Olusegun, Managing Director of the THLD Group, the initiative will also boost the sale and use of Autogas as a sustainable vehicle fuel that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, while ensuring fuel economy and reducing costs, and will promote a clean environment “providing jobs for thousands of youth in the country.”

Moreover, Andrews Ohene Boateng, Vice Principal of ATTC commended THLD group for choosing their school as the centre of the operations and gave the assurance that they will make good use of the collaboration to step up their Internally Generated Funds. He said the partnership will also equip their students with additional skills to become self-employed and employers upon completion.
